Surface Ceramics

Ceramics for home and garden.

Each piece designed and crafted by Liv Antonecchia since 2006.

Clay has infinite possibilities as a medium to create.  The surface and form can be translated to achieve about any desired outcome and this keeps challenging me.  I find interest in making separate components to create a larger piece.  If my work comes from real life objects I love to give them unexpected surfaces.  The abstract forms start from a feeling and memories. I strive to convey those universal emotions so the viewer can connect to them with their own story and experiences.

Liv Antonecchia was born and grew up in Katonah, N.Y.  She attended Virginia Commonwealth University where she majored in Craft/Material Studies, concentrating on ceramics and glass receiving her BFA in 1994.  For the next several years she worked in craft galleries and studios before starting her own home based pottery studio in 2003.  In 2004 her family relocated to Charleston SC where they still live today.  Liv continued her home based pottery studio and for three years owned and operated her own gallery in downtown Charleston, Surface Craft Gallery.  Today Liv works from her home studio in Mount Pleasant S.C. and hand builds ceramic wall pieces for home decor.
